I'm delighted that North Norfolk Community Transport is to receive £133,636 from the National Lottery Community Fund.
The funding will enable North Norfolk Community Transport to continue to deliver excursions for older people who live in rurally isolated areas, in an accessible, supportive, and safe environment. Local authorities do fund essential trips such as shopping or picking up prescriptions, but they are not able to fund trips out as they are not deemed to be 'essential.
NNCT would like to continue and expand the delivery of excursions and trips, as the beneficiaries have highlighted how much this service is valued. The service is open to anyone across North Norfolk who does not have access to their own vehicle or public transport, though the majority of users are over 75 years old.
