I held a meeting this morning with the local ICB and Norfolk Community Healthcare Trust to continue the campaign for Benjamin Court to remain open and at all costs, the site to be retained for NHS uses.
No decision has yet been made about the future of the site, but the ICB acknowledged and recognised the importance of keeping local healthcare services open for the community.
I'll soon be meeting with the ICB at Benjamin Court to continue these important discussions on the future of the building.
If the reablement centre is to stay closed, I urged the ICB to consider bringing more specialised services to the site such as stroke, dementia or palliative care units. These are desperately needed provisions in North Norfolk, and would save the building being knocked down or mothballed.
I promised at the public meeting I held in August, and more recently at the rally I attended on Saturday, that I will always campaign to protect and bring as many local services to North Norfolk as I can.
