Energy Bills Support
I understand how concerning it is for many of my constituents to not have received any financial support for their energy bills. Many here in North Norfolk, like myself, are on heating oil and have experienced the increase in prices and are in need of support.
A concern I first raised back in the springtime, and consistently whenever I have had the opportunity, I am pleased to be able to provide the newest update about alternative fuel payments as well as support for energy bills for those households who have not received the £400 yet.
👍 Alternative Fuels Payment:
- £200 towards the cost of alternative fuels; heating oil, LPG bottles, coal and biomass fuels.
- For most this will come through your electricity supplier with no need to take any action.
- For others unable to receive this payment automatically, there will be a route to apply and receive this payment. Details arriving shortly.
👍 Energy Bill Support Payment:
- £400 for those households who do not have a domestic energy supply for example, park home residents, care home residents, households who receive their energy through commercial intermediaries whether that be a landlord, site manager, social housing association etc… or are off the energy grid entirely.
- Details of eligibility to be announced shortly.
- Applications will open for households in the new year to apply for this payment.
- Applicants will need to fill out a form on the Gov.uk website which will be verified by Local Authorities.
- Once verified the Local Authority will distribute the payments.
- For those without easy access to the form online, I raised this question with the Minister last night and clarified that a helpline will be made available to assist with filling out the form for those more elderly and vulnerable.
All of this is coming in the New Year and will delivered as soon as possible this winter. More handy information below
