📢 This morning I raised in Parliament the continuing issue of the Stiffkey Bridge replacement.
👉 This was removed over 18 months ago by the National Trust to widespread local concern.
👉 Whilst the campaigning to see the bridge replaced has seen confirmation that a new bridge will be built, many have wished to see the structural surveyor report that condemned it initially.
‼ Nearly 4 weeks ago at a public meeting in Stiffkey, I requested to see the report. I still haven’t seen it. So I raised the matter on the floor of the House.
👍 Penny Mordaunt’s reply was excellent. She said she could see no reason why the report would be withheld, and that she will write to the relevant department to ensure they heard what I said and provide advice on how this issue can be rectified.
