North Norfolk MP Duncan Baker has welcomed the re-opening of shops and businesses across North Norfolk.
“Following a successful campaign by MPs to re-open zoos, I met with Benjie Cabell-Manners, owner of Cromer’s Amazona Zoo this week, to find out more about their plans for re-opening. More generally, I am so impressed with the way local businesses have risen to the challenge of putting measures in place to enable social distancing, and I want to thank them for their hard work.
“I’m delighted that the government has made funding available to local authorities as part of the Reopening High Streets Safely Fund, and this too will help to make our streets as safe as possible so that trade can begin again.
“I am hopeful that, from early July, restrictions will also be lifted on our tourism and hospitality trade, so they too can re-open. I know this has been a very difficult time for the economy locally and nationally, and I encourage everyone in North Norfolk to support our local businesses on the road to recovery. Let’s promote the strong message that North Norfolk is open for business.”
