Supporting those with serious conditions
Every week I try to raise your serious concerns directly on the Floor of the House. It is a real pleasure to try and get as many of your questions heard.
Today I raised the case of a constituent who has Motor Neurone Disease.
We need to fully support those living with such serious conditions and ensure their benefits are fair and protected - pensioners for instance should not be penalised due to age.
How can it be right that once you are of pensionable age, your support is less than before becoming a pensioner?
Surely the benefits people with health issues are entitled to, should be based on their disability and not their age.
