Speaking in the BBC Local Radio debate in Parliament. I have had many constituents write to me on the proposed BBC local radio changes and many are upset at the plans. As promised, I said I would speak on your behalf. BBC Radio Norfolk is beloved in our constituency and sees 148,000 listeners a week across the county. The rationalisation of programmes and removal of local content has worried many. Areas of the country such as mine depend on local radio as a source of constant information and for many, the familiarity of the broadcasters is a source of companionship if you are alone. I hope the BBC look again at these proposals.
