Speaking in Parliament about the future of Bacton gas terminal.
I spoke in the Energy Bill about the strategic importance of Bacton, our hydrocarbon gas processing plant responsible for 1/3 of the UK’s gas supply.
Ever since the war in Ukraine started, Bacton has been working overtime as a key site, importing and exporting gas between Belgium and the UK.
Bacton can act as a major hub for blue and green hydrogen production, to power London and the South East.
We now need government momentum, investment and support to seize on this revolution.
Bacton can play a pivotal role in securing our own energy production and security, it will drive down carbon emissions and put North Norfolk further on the map for the renewable energy revolution.
